Nativity’s Outreach program serves to identify needs in the Greenwood area, the Diocese of Mississippi and beyond and find ways for the congregation’s generous members to be involved in meeting those needs.

From providing emergency assistance to those in crisis to mentoring at-risk children and feeding the students at Delta Streets Academy, the variety of Outreach opportunities is diverse and open to any who would like to be involved. That might mean handing out water at the famous “Mile One” water station during the Viking Half-Marathon, collecting coats for Afghani children or sending Christmas gift cards to the less fortunate throughout the community. In addition, Outreach coordinates the church’s contributions to such local ministries such as the Community Kitchen, the Food Pantry, and the Greenwood Cemetery Association.

Most recently, Nativity members collected and donated items to children affected by immigration raids in South Mississippi while the Outreach Committee donated funds to Catholic Charities as they work to meet the needs of those families in the long term. Whether your interest is hands-on involvement or behind-the-scenes financial support, there’s a place for your commitment to Nativity’s Outreach.
