Vacation Bible School 2019
What to Expect this Year at VBS
Our 2019 Vacation Bible School is Monday, July 15 through Wednesday, July 17 from 5:30-7:30pm.
EYC may be on summer break, but that does not mean that there is nothing going on. We are beginning to focus our attention on Vacation Bible School coming in July. This year the theme of VBS is “Summer Camp in God’s Creation.” Our plan is to turn Nativity’s parish hall into a summer camp. Like our beloved Camp Bratton-Green, there will be trees and lakes, a craft shack and a Chapel. We plan to tie-dye shirts, make crafts out of yarn, have music, games and so music more as we explore God’s creation.
One special treat at this year’s VBS is that we have invited our friends from Beacon Harbor to join us. Many of the residents of Beacon Harbor are faithful attendees at Special Session camps at Camp Bratton-Green. Camp has become so special and important to them that many begin counting down the days to their return to camp as soon as they get home from camp! Our hope is that in some way, we can bring the camp experience to Greenwood. This year, we will have the pleasure of Father Patrick Sanders, Director of Special Session I at Camp Bratton-Green, joining us to help with music.
For rising 4K to 5th graders, don't miss this--it's going to be a great time!
Call for Volunteers
We are planning for something BIG, which means we will needs LOTS of help! So, how can you help? If you are a parent of a child who will be at VBS, you can volunteer to help other adult volunteers chaperone the groups between the stations and activities. If you don't have children who will attend VBS, you can also serve by being a chaperone, helping with activities, or helping those who are attending from Beacon Harbor.
We will need some people who can "be present" with attendees from Beacon Harbor. This is important--you will find that they have so much to offer and you will forever be a friend to them.
If you cannot help with chaperoning or with activities, we could use some help setting up the space. There will be trees to make and walls to decorate. We will also need help with cleaning up after VBS. There's a way for anyone to lend a hand, so please let us know what you'd like to do!
We hope you'll join us for VBS, even if you don't have a child who will attend. There will be lots of love to go around for everyone!
To volunteer, or if you have any questions about VBS, please reach out to Katie Dale at 662-897-4835 or Phillip at 662-760-8398 or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Help us plan accordingly by letting us know who's coming!
