Miles/Gregg Wedding Announcement

Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Gordon Miles Jr. of Olive Branch and Ms. Margaret Lipe Miles of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Margaret Webb Miles, to Matthew Thomas Gregg of Greenwood.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Harold Gregg Jr. of Greenwood. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Harold Gregg of Greenwood and the late Mr. and Mrs. James H. “Bill” Stallings.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Thomas Lipe and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Gordon Miles.

Miss Miles is a graduate of Pillow Academy. She received an associate’s degree in nursing at Mississippi Delta Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women.

She is employed as a registered nurse at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

Mr. Gregg attended Carroll Academy. He is employed at Sequel Electrical Supply.

The couple will exchange vows at 5 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.

The Rev. Peter Gray will officiate.

A reception at The Alluvian hotel will follow.

Whites, Brantley to wed in June

Dr. and Mrs. Perry M. Whites of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Reynolds Whites, to Christopher Felder Brantley of Ridgeland.

Mr. Brantley is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Felder Brantley of Ridgeland. He is the grandson of Mrs. Albert Hines Walters of Jackson and the late Mr. Walters and the late Mr. and Mrs. Tobie Dunn Brantley.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Betty Ann Stribling of Greenwood and the late Mr. Lance E. Clemes and the late Mr. and Mrs. David D. Whites.

A 2009 graduate of Pillow Academy in Greenwood, Miss Whites attended the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority, and she made her debut with the Southern Debutante Assembly in 2010. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing in 2013 and is pursuing a doctorate degree in nursing practice at the University of South Alabama. She is employed as a registered nurse with Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson and Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2008 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School in Flowood. He is a 2012 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he was a member and treasurer of Sigma Chi Fraternity, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with majors in banking and finance and managerial finance. He is employed as a wealth management analyst with WealthPartners of Ridgeland.

The couple will exchange vows at 7 p.m. on June 11 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Greenwood.

Overstreet, Robertson to wed Oct. 18

Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Dale DeLoach Jr. of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Brittany Kirsten Overstreet, to Seth Summer Robertson of Belzoni.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kelly Robertson Jr. of Belzoni. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kelly Robertson Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Sedgie Summer.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Overstreet of Greenwood and the great-granddaughter of the late Gertrude Fitts and the late Merline Overstreet.

Miss Overstreet is a 2006 graduate of Indianola Academy and a 2014 graduate of Hinds Community College, where she received an associate’s degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.

Mr. Robertson is a 2000 graduate of Humphreys Academy and a 2003 graduate of Mississippi Delta Community College, where he received an associate’s degree in precision agricultural technology. He is employed as the manager of Rodgers Flying Service in Belzoni.

The couple will exchange vows at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Greenwood. A reception will follow at the Historic Elks Lodge in Greenwood. Friends and family of the couple are invited to attend.

Griffin/Thomas Wedding Announcement

Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Robbins Rogers of Oxford announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Ann Carter Thomas of Greenwood, to Flynt Houston Griffin of Coral Gables, Fla.

Miss Thomas is also the daughter of the late William Preston Thomas.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Glenn Griffin of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Reed Davis III of Scottsdale Ariz.

He is the grandson of  James L. Clayton, Mary Lyta Stephens and Ruth Griffin, all of Knoxville, and the late Albert Houston Griffin.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ann White Carter of Ruston, La., and the late William Shands Carter and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Talbert Thomas III.

Miss Thomas is a 2003 graduate of Pillow Academy and a 2007 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in family and consumer sciences and a  minor in business. She is a 2012 graduate of Utah State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in communicative sciences and deaf education, and a 2014 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she received a Master of Science degree in communicative sciences and disorders. She is a full-time student and will complete a clinical fellowship as a speech-language pathologist and is a certified therapeutic riding instructor through PATH International.

Mr. Griffin is a 1997 graduate of Webb High School in Knoxville and a 2001 graduate of Southern Methodist University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in economics and finance. He is a 2005 graduate of St. Thomas University, where he received  a Juris Doctor degree and a Master of Business Administration degree. He  owns Tons of Fun Tours and Rentals and is a commercial mortgage banker for Absolute Financial Resources.

The couple will exchange vows at 6:30 p.m. on June 14 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Greenwood.

Miss White, Mr. Faught to wed in April

Dr. and Mrs. Allison Randle White Jr. of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Rachael Aline White of Greenwood, to Daniel Wayne Faught of Mobile, Ala.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Lee Bryant and Wayne Leith Faught, all of Greensboro, Ala.

He is the grandson George Eugene Kuhn of Faunsdale, Ala., the late Bobbie Edmondson Kuhn and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Ellis Faught Sr.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allison Randle White Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Havis Webb.

Miss White is a 2001 graduate of Pillow Academy and a 2006 graduate of Mississippi State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences.

She is a member of Phi Mu sorority, where she served as philanthropy chairman and standards chairmen. She is also a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

The bride-elect is a medical student in Nova Southeastern University college of osteopathic medicine. She plans to graduate in May 2010.

Mr. Faught is a 2001 graduate of Greensboro West High School in Alabama.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in wildlife sciences with a concentration in law enforcement from Mississippi State University.

He is a member of the Wildlife Law Enforcement Club, Wildlife Society and member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

He is an officer for the Alabama Department of Conservation in the Marine Resources Enforcement division.

The couple will exchange vows at 6:30 p.m. April 10, 2010, at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.

The Rev. Annie Kay Cumberland will officiate at the ceremony.

A reception at the Greenwood Country Club will follow.

Humphryes, Gaines to wed December 5

Mr. and Mrs. Raybon Humphryes of Gordo, Ala., announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Jenny Lynn Humphryes of Greenwood, to David Patrick Gaines of Gaithersburg, Md., son of Mr. Marion Touliman Gaines III of Kensington, Md., and the late Mrs. Gaines.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Allen Reynolds of Gordo and the late Mr. and Mrs. Rubin B. Humphryes of Northport, Ala.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pitt of Gaithersburg, Md., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marion Toulmin Gaines Jr. of Mobile, Ala.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Gordo High School and the University of Alabama, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a double minor in English and history.

She is the managing editor of the Greenwood Commonwealth.

The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, Md.

He is a logistics management specialist for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C.

The couple will exchange vows at 4 p.m. Dec. 5, 2009, at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Greenwood.

Miss Hargrove, Mr. Hodges to wed in Nov.

Hank and Terri Hargrove of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Dorothy “Kati” Kathryn Hargrove of Greenwood, to Lincoln Rees Hodges of Collierville, Tenn.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Lincoln Hodges of Germantown, Tenn., and Terri Halley of Collierville, Tenn.

He is the grandson of Warner Hodges of Memphis, Barbara Rees of Mount Dora, Fla., and the late Davis and Jayne Watson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James and the late Kathryn Hargrove of Greenwood and Linn and Dot Hart of Canton.

Miss Hargrove is a 2001 graduate of Pillow Academy and a 2006 graduate of Mississippi State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. She is also a 2008 graduate of Mississippi College, where she received her master’s degree.

She is employed by Germantown United Methodist Preschool.

Mr. Hodges is a 2002 graduate of Houston High School and a 2006 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree.

He is a 2009 graduate of the Mississippi College School of Law.

Mr. Hodges is employed by Hodges Law Firm.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009, at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.

Tharp and Eastland announced wedding plans

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Allen Tharp of Winona have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Jennifer Allyn Tharp, to Hiram Chester Eastland III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Chester Eastland Jr. of Greenwood.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Sybil Tharp of Winona and the late W.M. Tharp and of the late Mr. and Mrs. William E. Senner of Dalton, Mass.

Miss Tharp is a 1996 honor graduate of Winona Academy and a 2000 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she received a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing. While at Ole Miss, she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority, which she served as public relations director. She was a member of Golden Key National Honor Society and the Advertising Federation, and she was a dean's list scholar.

She is presently employed as membership/marketing manager at the Memphis Botanic Garden.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Marjorie Carpenter of Greenwood and the late Kelly Carpenter and of Carolyn Eastland of Doddsville and the late Hiram C. Eastland Sr.

Mr. Eastland is a 1996 graduate of Pillow Academy and a 2000 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he received a bachelor of business administration degree in general business.

While at Ole Miss, he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, which he served as house manager and Delta Sigma Pi pledge class president. He also served as a senior staffer for American Legion Boys State.

He is presently employed with Eastland Law Offices and plans to pursue graduate studies at the University of Mississippi.

Vows will be exchanged at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2001, at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Greenwood. A reception will immediately follow in the rose garden of the church.
