The Rev. Peter W. Gray, Rector
The Rev. Peter Gray has served at Nativity since 2013. A native of Oxford, Mississippi, he graduated from Millsaps College in 2004, received a Master of Theological Studies from Vanderbilt Divinity School in 2006, and a Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2008. He and his wife, Giulianna, also a priest, began their ordained ministry in New Orleans in 2008, where he served first as an Spanish-language missioner with St. Anna’s and Grace Episcopal Churches and then as Associate Rector at Trinity Episcopal Church. Giulianna currently serves as Rector of St. Stephen’s, Indianola. Together, they have two children, Joseph and Francesca. In his free time, Peter reads, gardens, and chases children.
Jane Crump, Office Administrator
Jane has served at Nativity since 2017. Prior to joining our staff, she worked in the fields of public relations and marketing for over twenty years with Viking Range and C3 designs. She and her husband Bill live in Schlater.
Sarah Iwanski, Business Manager
Sarah has worked in various roles at Nativity since 2012. Sarah is originally from Portland, Oregon, attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts for her undergraduate degree, and recently completed a Master of Nonprofit Administration degree at the University of Notre Dame. Sarah moved to Mississippi to work as a high school Spanish teacher at Amanda Elzy High School, where she taught for three years. Sarah enjoys organizing, traveling, and spending time with her family. In addition to her work at Nativity, Sarah is the Executive Director of ArtPlace Mississippi.
The Rev. Phillip Parker, Youth Ministry
The Rev. Phillip Parker has served at Nativity since 2018. He also serves the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Sumner, Mississippi and is involved in prison ministry at the Mississippi State Penitentiary. A native of Webster County, Mississippi, he graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996 and a Master of Science in 1999. He attended the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas and received a Master of Divinity in 2018. Phillip is married to Amanda Parker and they have two children, Connor and Mackenzie. Before seminary, Phillip worked at a community mental health center serving children and adolescents who have special needs.
David Williamson, Choirmaster & Organist
A native of Durant, Mississippi, David Williamson studied Organ and Sacred Music at Delta State University and privately with the late Joe A. Morrow at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Memphis, where he was Joe’s last assistant. He enjoys cooking, gardening, and preservation, particularly of old pipe organs.
